You will analyze customer’s technical specifications, one-line diagram, and schematic diagram regarding the application of Siemens MV switchgear product SIEBREAKTMand SIEBREAK VCBTMalong with associated protection and control systems and design configured solutions to meet/exceed the customers’ expectations in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to create all documents for customer approval and manufacturing of Medium Voltage switchgear. Typical documents include:
    • Electrical schematics
    • Panel arrangement
    • Nameplate schedule
    • Three-line drawings
    • Wiring diagrams
  • Utilize the engineering configurator software to prepare one-line drawings and finalize the bill of materials.
  • Utilize Engineering Base CAD software to complete the drawing package and develop expertise with the tool.
  • Be a project engineer taking full ownership of the overall deliverables from both electrical and mechanical engineering, drafting, customer and factory deliverables point of view.
  • Provide factory support during the manufacture phase of your projects making sure quality requirements are met. Also, in the process of providing technical support or clarifications to customers during FAT.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • 1+ years of proven experience working with the engineering or drafting of electrical power distribution products and systems. Preference given to experience with switchgear.
  • Strong working knowledge of standard protection and control technologies used in medium voltage distribution products with proven ability to share this knowledge with others.
  • Electrical drafting experience with Engineering Base, ELCAD, and/or AutoCAD Electrical, or similar.
  • Ability to multitask and manage large workloads and business demands.
  • An ideal candidate is self-driven with attention to detail, a system thinker, and process-driven, and should also embrace a culture of quality.
  • Must be in or willing to relocate to the Raleigh/Wendell, NC area.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in electrical engineering is a plus with extra consideration given if the degree concentration is in power systems.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for MV Switchgear.
  • Experience creating and working with smart CAD blocks.

  • The pay range for this position is $67,480 - $115,680. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
