As a, AZ, you will have the opportunity to lead a team that contributes to the success of a Jacobs water-distribution flushing program providing effective solutions to challenges of conserving potable water during water system flushing at municipal facilities. You’ll operate and maintain a water-distribution flushing truck, instrumentation and controls equipment, various pumps, bag filters, and chlorine feed systems and other distribution-related maintenance items such as operating hydrant valves, sampling distribution water for analysis. You will perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on all equipment as needed; complete work orders, equipment and process performance forms; and perform other duties as required. During gaps in water-distribution flushing, you will help support water-distribution operation and maintenance services at Jacobs projects throughout Arizona, currently in Goodyear and Prescott Valley, based on the needs at each individual project. Most importantly, you will take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.
This position is based out of
Prescott Valley, Arizonaand will require travel to other water provider sites to perform the water-distribution flushing service. Travel requirements depend on flushing-truck utilization, which may be up to 90 percent.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License
• Possess a Class 1 Arizona Water Distribution certification
• Three years’ experience at a supervisory level
• Capable of working independently and maintaining an orderly schedule
• Coordinate or support daily work activities
• Strive for safe work practices and review operations for safety improvements
• Review and approve timesheets, P card, T card and PTO
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Possess or ability to obtain a Class 2 AZ Water distribution certification within one (1) year
• One to three years’ experience in operations and maintenance on water distribution systems
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
