As a, you will perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant. Priority is the Wastewater Treatment Plant maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs a full range of general maintenance and cleaning duties related to the wastewater treatment plant
• Performs repairs to equipment, preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment
• Operates SCADA system daily checks
• Identifies major problems with process, and process changes
• Helps with/when needed to operate/check ten (10) Lift Stations including cleaning and inspection
• Maintains records of basic operations, maintenance and work performed
• Maintains maintenance records on the CMMS including review of completed work orders before closing work orders
• Participates in on call for the Wastewater Treatment Facility rotation for weekends
• Works safely and adheres to established safety procedures
• Follows written and oral instructions
• Ability to carry and respond to calls and pages as assigned by management
• Work on-call shifts, as assigned, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
• Performs other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of sound safety principles and practices
• Knowledgeable in computer operations—able to make spreadsheets and word processing documents, and enter information into maintenance management system
Ideally, here’s what you will also have:
• Basic knowledge in the operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, pumps and equipment used in and around water and wastewater systems
• Familiarity with hand and power tools and equipment commonly used in the maintenance of vehicles, equipment, structures, and buildings
• Ability to take and pass the Grade 1 wastewater treatment certificate in the first year of work
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements.
