Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Business Administration, Management) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, Diplomacy, Politics, human resources, or business-related roles

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years’ experience working on societal issues related to technology, including generative AI.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in or with a large, matrixed organization.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Business Administration, Management) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, Diplomacy, Politics, human resources, or business-related roles

o OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Business Administration, Management) AND 5+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, Diplomacy, Politics, human resources, or business-related roles

o OR equivalent experience.

Business Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Drives the architecting,developing, and executingoftheteam’srhythm of business (ROB). Workscloselywiththesenior leader toensureaccountability and deliveroutcomes.
  • Leverages knowledge of organizational strategy and planned deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design budgets.
  • Develops forecasting plans in partnership with the leadership team.Overseethe development of metrics for budgeting and forecasting;identifiesactions that can be taken to course-correct and drive performance improvement;anticipatesbusiness challenges based on forecasts.
  • Collaborates with leadersregardingresource management planning.
  • theleader’stime by organizingregularcommunicationsto stakeholders; performs triage and ghostwriting on behalf of the leader toexpediteleader's time responding to emails.
  • Developspresentations and messaging related to the team's mission and key projects.

  • Drives cross-team projects as needed.
  • Engages in project management to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations.

  • Establishes relationships with key governmental andcivil societystakeholders (e.g., peer and industry organizations, think tanks,NGOs,academics, businesses, community leaders);implements outreach strategies, and positions these partners as advocates for Microsoft's policy, political, and business priorities.
