You’ll serve as a top-level technical or functional expert; often working on multiple projects and programs that support one or more clients in the PharmBio industry. These projects range from Drug Substance manufacturing to Drug Product\Fill Finish manufacturing. Supporting design phases including feasibility through to detailed design and construction / qualification. The candidate shall possess the skills required to successfully define, develop and execute project tasks and deliverables, be a collaborative team player, develop and maintain client relationships and have a strong drive to deliver to clients. The Principal Technologist analyzes and performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies within the clean room design, construction and operation realm. You’ll drive technical discussions and decisions based on cost, operability, schedule and technical suitability. You will work with clients to solve various problems associated with the project and will apply expert functional knowledge and experience to provide optimal project solutions. You will work with design team as well as construction management staff to support design to construction transition assuring expectations are achieved.
Tasks performed may include:
• Liaison between design and field installation team.
• Conduct site walkdowns to assure design intent and quality expectations are met.
• Work to incorporate Safety in Design (SiD)
• Support design teams to understand permitting requirements are addressed.
• Support building permit process coordinating with local JHA's.
• Perform quality reviews on Architectural design deliverables.
GMP Clean room activities may include:
• Assist clients and clean room vendors with development of design intent
• Work with Architectural team to define design and provide progress reviews throughout the design phase.
• Develop scope of work for turnkey installations
• Provide Proposal reviews including
• Bid analysis and vendor selection
• Vendor factory / manufacturing analysis
• Field installation walkdown and observation
This role will support multiple offices in the life sciences line of business worldwide. Experience with design execution / coordination across global offices in the life sciences network is required.
Experience developing business development activities, including providing technical input to proposal efforts. At the higher levels, the Technologist may serve as a technical task or project leader and may have supervisory responsibilities. The Principal Technologist maintains current knowledge of relevant developments in their professional area of expertise, participates in special projects, and represents Jacobs at various technical conferences as required. You will develop and recommend strategy, best practice methodologies and cost models for various clean room options in execution. You will perform project tasks independently and may direct the efforts of others, including training, developing and mentoring rising talent identified for the Technologist pool.

• 15+ years of relevant experience in a combination of engineering/design/ construction firms and cGMP manufacturing operations setting with a focus on Life Sciences
• Bachelor of Architecture degree is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of Life Sciences client requirements and how they relate within the current technical environment.
• Operating facility and/or equipment technical specification/design experience essential.
• Ability to anticipate needs and formulate customized solutions to client issues that address the successful management and/or delivery of proposed projects.
• Ability to deliver and support technical presentations to clients and staff.
• Experience working with Sales Leadership on new business proposals and proposal development.
• Experience leading the development of deliverable content that meets the needs of the client.
• Ability to travel; conducting global site visits to support program and technical reviews and presents on project status.
• Expert working knowledge of critical unit operations including Formulation, Filling, Lyophilization, Inspection and Packaging as it relates to clean room design and operation.
• Recognized globally by clients as a critical thinker, sought after by global clients to carry out peers’ reviews.
