REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have at least 10-15+ years of broad-based development, production and acquisition experience, including with respect to development, production, talent, and acquisition agreements related to motion pictures. An understanding of related or ancillary documents and issues (e.g., rights and above-the-line agreements and matters, production services agreements, chain of title review, etc.) required. Prior in-house experience is required (major film studio experience strongly preferred).
The successful candidate will also possess the following:- Clear, concise communication skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities and judgment, even when the rules are unclear and the issues are of first impression.
- Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong sense of urgency and the ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities.
- Ability to pivot quickly and fluidly, think practically and be solution-oriented.
- Prior experience in a mentoring role is highly desirable, as is a commitment to elevating the work of the entire legal affairs team.
- J.D. and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $280,000-960,000.
