The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Drive OEE, product yield quality and productivity project improvements. Identifying, initiating and implementing process improvement projects using Continuous Improvement principles.

  • Leads and coordinate new product development NPI programs through all phases.

  • Collaborating with cross functional teams for manufacturing start-ups, new technologies, and cost reduction projects.

  • Improving Environmental, Health, and Safety of the manufacturing process including Change management.

  • Effectively troubleshoot defects and variation, perform root cause analysis and apply problem solving skills. Supporting production operations to meet daily, weekly, monthly targets.

  • Ability to provide engineering support to occasionally nights, weekends as necessary to cover the manufacturing operations.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years working in a manufacturing and/or process engineering role in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience with rotary converting, automation technology and processes, web handling and slitting processes.

  • Experience with new product introductions & qualifications (NPI).

  • Experience with equipment startups, capital projects, and OEE productivity improvements.

  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to effetely use statistics tools to solve problems.

  • Experience with Project management tools, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with time constraints.

  • Works well on cross-functional team in a continuous improvement environment.

  • Lean Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
