As a Corporate Communications Manager, your responsibilities could include:
- Develop, plan, and drive execution of corporate communications plans to support regional business objectives and divisional priorities through media, social, leadership, and employee communications, aligned with global & regional communications strategy.
- With a deep knowledge of the corporate story, ensure consistency of brand and message across channels and spokespeople .Maintain a calendar of opportunities .
- Source, create, edit, and publish compelling storiesabout Boston Scientific, our values, and our people through internal and external channels.
- As a business partner, work closely with stakeholders to understand the business and provide strategic counsel as needed to protect and strengthen the company’s reputation.
- Manage the schedule of EMEA media activities and organize work of PR agency & freelance resources, in close alignment with global teams. Act as a point of contact for journalists and develop relationships with key media outlets.
- Proactively manage the communications around reputation issues that arise , preparing and supporting effective spokespeople and coordinating our response.
- Own the divisional internal communications eco-system and advise on the evolution of content, channels, and frequency mix for maximum impact.
- Using a data-driven approach , evaluate the impact of communications activities and proactively use insights to improve future campaigns / strengthen internal partnerships
- Secure and coordinate a budget.
- Manage comms vendors to ensure consistency, quality, value, and innovation in their approach.
- As a senior member of the corporate communications team, coach internal partners and junior team members, eg interns, as needs arise.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement ; leading team and process improvement projects as part of the EMEA Corp Comms team
To join our Talent Community and be successful in such a role, you would need to have:
- Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills required
- Degree in communications or related discipline
- Fluency in English is essential, and in one other EMEA language is highly desirable
- Broad experience in managing complex communications environments essential, ideally with some pan-European/regional or international experience.
- Experience in the healthcare industry preferred from either agency or corporate setting (eg MedTech, pharma, hospital, PR agency specializing in health)
- Demonstrated success at working under deadlines with excellent follow-through skills
- 20-30% travel is anticipated with this role, mainly within the European region to major congresses and Boston Scientific offices.
