About the RoleAs a category development & insights manager you will build relationships with and deepen our partnerships with key merchants, acting as a trusted advisor on range, pricing, and promotions by leveraging key insights from our own performance data while promoting our position as industry experts with our partners.
What You Will Do- Build and foster relationships with key grocery accounts: Serve as the key category development point of contact, building and maintaining credibility with strategic partners through category expertise
- Support our strategic account management team with category strategy: Close partnership with Account Managers to deeply understand merchant needs, priorities and strategy, creating clear and comprehensive category narratives to share directly with our top grocery accounts.
- Conduct industry trend analysis to identify growth opportunities
- Provide recommended range plans: across key grocery accounts to optimise assortment for on demand considering key shopper missions and personas
- Conduct category & assortment healthchecks: work in close partnership with catalog team to optimise inventory management and store coverage of top selling SKUs
- Influence merchandising strategy: Analyse SKU and category performance to identify trends, opportunities and ranging gaps
- Influence smarter pricing: Create tools to understand and analyse merchant pricing by category and SKU, advising merchants on pricing strategies by category, leveraging insights to advocate for more competitive pricing to improve value for customers
- Optimise promotional strategy: Analyse performance across key grocery accounts, providing recommendations on promo mechanics factoring in incrementality and ROI
- Influence content strategy: leverage insights to optimise key search and content keywords to improve search ranking and visibility
- Manage the digital shelf: provide recommendations on optimal shelf layout, surfacing complementary SKUs to drive increased conversion
What We're Seeking:
- 4+ years of customer or client facing experience ideally in Tech, Retail or FMCG, previous customer-facing experience at executive levels
- 2+ years line management experience leading and coaching others to deliver successful outcomes.
- Strong storytelling and influencing skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders across businesses and levels.
- Data-driven decision maker who displays sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking and possesses ability to drive insight into action. SQL knowledge is a must.
- Strong stakeholder management with experience partnering with external stakeholders either in commercial relationship or as an integrated advisor/consultant in their business
- Category development experience in grocery/convenience landscape a must, either FMCG, retailer or agency side
- Experience with EPOS & panel data (e.g. Kantar, Dunnhumby, Nielsen) a plus
