Your key responsibilities

  • Define new procedures and controls to enhance the overall operational risk process
  • Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budget
  • Stay current on business and industry trends relevant to our clients, including the latest private equity fund structures and investment record keeping standards
  • Manage a team of senior analysts to drive execution and provide high-quality work within expected timeframes and budget
  • Review team’s work products and provide necessary coaching for improvement
  • Ability to execute detailed procedures based on knowledge of PE fund controllership, investment books and records, and/or financial reporting processes
  • Perform critical accounting activities, including capital calls, valuations, and transaction processing
  • Manage risks and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
  • Oversee delivery of client and process requirements in a regulatory driven environment, and understanding operationally complex fund controllership principles

Skills and attributes for success

  • Knowledgeable in private equity and Fund of Funds investment characteristics and the application of regulatory and financial reporting rules to those investments
  • Effective leadership, project management, and organizational skills

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Approximately 6 years of work experience related to regulatory reporting in the financial services industry
  • People management experience with leading project teams and managing direct reports within an organization
  • Experience related to fund controllership, investment books and records, and/or fund administration
  • Analytical skills, especially those related to fund controllership and asset management
  • Strong proven communication skills demonstrated through effective writing and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders; based on critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of financial products and services, in particular private equity funds
  • An interest in working in an environment which encourages continuous learning, development, and identification of opportunities for improvement of individual and team performance
  • A willingness to work in an office with team members
  • A willingness to travel on an exception basis for client needs

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • CFA
  • Experience with software tools including document management systems, workflow systems, partnership accounting, investment accounting such as eFront, Investran, or other investment sub-ledger software
  • Experience in financial statement reporting/analysis

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $69,000 to $157,500. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $82,700 to $179,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
