This position could be located in TX, PA, or GA.
You will play a key role in defining the way private equity and PE Fund of Fund General Partners (GPs) meet their fund controllership, investment books and records, regulatory, tax, and financial statement reporting requirements. Top-tier GPs and investment managers are increasingly looking to EY to provide operational services for critical functions, in parallel with their current custodians. Join our team in building a new service and identifying innovative ways for GPs to manage books and records, as well as timely fund financial statements.
Your key responsibilities
- Understand the intricacies of private equity and PE Fund-of-Fund investment operations and financial statement reporting
- Perform critical accounting activities, including capital calls, valuations, and transaction processing
- Be part of defining new procedures and controls to enhance the overall operational risk process
- Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budget
- Assist with managing risks and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
- Stay current on business and industry trends relevant to our clients, including the latest private equity fund structures and investment record keeping standards
Skills and attributes for success
- Understanding of processes and ability to execute detailed procedures based on knowledge of fund controllership, investment books and records, and/or financial statement processes, and regulatory filing principles
- Mastery of the intricacies in private equity and PE Fund of Funds, fund controllership and/or financial reporting
- Knowledge of private equity and Fund of Funds investment characteristics and the application of regulatory and financial reporting rules to those investments
- Deliver client and process requirements in a regulatory driven environment, and understanding operationally complex fund controllership principles
- Develop relationships with team members across multiple geographic locations and time zones
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of work experience related to fund controllership, fund valuation, capital calls and distributions, board reporting and production of audited financial statements
- Experience related to fund controllership, investment books and records, and/or fund administration
- Analytical skills, especially an understanding of transaction posting, and investment trial balance debits and credits related to fund controllership, investment books and records and asset management
- Strong proven communication skills demonstrated through effective writing and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders; based on critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of financial products and services, in particular private equity funds
- An interest in working in an environment which encourages continuous learning, development, and identification of opportunities for improvement of individual and team performance
- A willingness to work in an office when production activities require but will have the flexibility to work remotely
Ideally, you’ll also have
- CFA
- Experience in financial statement reporting/analysis
- Effective leadership, project management, and organizational skills
- Experience with software tools including document management systems, workflow systems, partnership accounting, investment accounting such as eFront, Investran, or other investment sub-ledger software

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $56,900 to $116,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $68,300 to $131,900. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
