The Senior Director, Associate General Counsel, Employment, Labor, and Benefits role reports directly to the SVP, General Counsel, US Commercial and TGO. This position will support employment, labor, and benefits matters in the US with additional responsibility for employment-related, cross-border matters and global project teams.


How you’ll spend your day
  • Develop and execute strategic direction, policies and training related to legal matters impacting Teva’s US workforce
  • Counsel business on employee relations, dispute resolution, and litigation avoidance
  • Manage US-based employment and benefits litigations, union relationships and bargaining, and administrative agency investigations relating to like topics
  • Manage legal budget and ensure alignment with financial targets
  • Manage outside counsel who provide services in support of this role
  • Provide Transactional Support on divestitures, acquisitions, and joint ventures as they relate to employment, labor, and benefits
  • Provide trainings to management and employees on emerging and/or hot legal topics
Your experience and qualifications
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top tier law school is required. Advanced degree in chemical, biological or pharmacy sciences is also beneficial
  • A minimum of 15 years prior experience at law firm and/or in-house legal department
  • Minimum 5 years of litigation experience
  • Pharmaceutical experience, either working in-house or supporting through private practice is required.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of New Jersey
  • Strong relationship-building skills, able to influence internal and external stakeholders. This individual will be highly visible at all levels of the organization and must be able to build trust and credibility.
  • Strong written and communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to support department goals, track, and report execution progress.
  • Proactive and collaborative, working with key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Techniques to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Substantive experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Up to 33% travel, including international, as needed
