Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The functional ownership covers: Inbound & outbound transportation, Last Mile ecommerce delivery, Customs, Inventory, Order book Fulfillment & Distribution Center/warehousing operations and product supply

As part of the leadership responsibilities, the Sr. Dir SCM SEA, is part of the SEA SLT (Senior Leadership Team), with an aim to drive success and strategic initiatives within the region.

The role reports to the Vice President – SCM EM (Emerging Markets) and functionally to the SVP and GM SEA market

Key Responsibilities:

  • Together with the SCM and Cluster leadership, develop the SCM road map for the cluster, implement global supply chain strategy that supports and meets the market’s strategy, performance objectives and customer/consumer expectations
  • Accountable for the end-to-end Supply Chain operations (Logistics & Transportation, Last Mile ecommerce delivery, Customs, Inventory, Order book Fulfillment & Distribution Center/warehousing operations and product supply)
  • Build and maintains strong relationships with the cluster’s key stakeholders and Senior Leadership Team: Brand, Finance, Commercial functions & Key Accounts, line managers as well as the entire team to ensure alignment with cascaded directions and objectives set by VP SCM EM and a smooth cluster execution
  • Be an integral part of cluster leadership team in designing and deploying the Moonshot 2.0 strategy
  • As market SLT member, play an integral role in market growth strategies, supporting the GM SEA in designing long term plans for the clusters outside core SCM scope. Think outside SCM, with a general management outlook on business. A commercial mindset with end-to-end business understanding is as important as your SCM acumen.
  • Make the business more competitive by ensuring product and on shelf availability, speed, responsiveness, strong delivery performance and healthy inventory levels.
  • Lead, coach, mentor a team of 47 supply chain experts.
  • Lead data driven analyses & assessments of SCM performance, root cause process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage 6 Distribution centers/warehouses and 3PL partners in an effort to keep the performance at best level across all DC/warehousing KPIs while challenge status-quo to ensure that our 3PL partners embrace the efficiency mindset.
  • Drive and collaborate with eCOM commercial partners to manage both own.com and marketplace platforms activations, system enhancements and deliver agreed SLAs
  • Drive and collaborate with SEA commercial functions on various strategic projects such as responsiveness, Indonesia local for local, Locker room, VAS for own retail, RFID, On shelf availability initiatives to meet SEA business growth ambitions
  • Drive and collaborate with EM and global stakeholders on DC network strategy, infrastructure requirements in line with SEA market ambitions. Drive SG,MY DC migration projects in near term and rest of 4 countries in the mid term
  • Work with NTP team on period tenders of B2B transport, Last mile delivery and customs brokerage contracts
  • Full end to end ownership of financial KPIs like L0, L1, COS, DND. Accountable to prepare, submit and manage country SCM L0 / L1 budgets and RFCs as well as COS items within the given guideline by VP SCM EM along with EM SCM financial controller.
  • Maintain routines to ensure delivery of core supply chain metrics in terms of product availability (OTA/OTIF), cost (SC cost absolute & as percentage of net sales), inventory/service and establish adequate monitoring & reporting routines for all SCM related KPIs
  • Ensure demand and supply are broadly in balance, including product supply processes, by maintaining strong S&OP routines with finance.
  • Together with the VP SCM EM & the Performance Manager SCM, prepare project related Business Cases as required and ensure timely execution in the approved budget
  • Develop and drive customer collaboration initiatives with local commercial functions
  • Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within global guidelines and report to VP SCM EM as well as Local Compliance Officer for any irregularity
  • Lead related SCM process improvements and efficiency programs and proactively bring up ideas for profit ability enhancement
  • Ensure high employee engagement at every level through effective motivation, coaching, training, and development of personnel in the team

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of operational Supply Chain (DC/warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, purchasing, sourcing) processes as well as understanding of business requirements and necessary capabilities
  • Strong commercial acumen, and end to end business understanding.
  • Ability to be commercially driven and think outside SCM
  • Data & Process driven, strong analytical skills
  • Inspirational leader with ability to coach and mentor individuals to achieve their full potential
  • Strong, pro-active executer with confidence and speed, turns thought into action
  • Good interpersonal and communicational skills to interact effectively and efficiently on different layers of the organization

  • Proven project management/ownership experience

  • Advanced MS office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SAP is nice to have

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University Degree with focus on engineering/operations/logistics/business administration
  • Minimum 15+ years experience in SCM, Logistics/Operations, team management
  • Background with retail / FMCG, Sporting Goods industry ideal, not a must
  • Fluent in English
