As a Vice President within Asset Management Operations team, you will work within a team of highly effective finance professionals within our J.P. Morgan Asset Management Australia business. You will develop and manage the oversight and governance process across on our Key Fund and Transfer Agency vendors for the Australia business. Key to your success will be both your technical skills and the ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders within Australia as well as across the overall Asia Pacific Operations organisation.
Job responsibilities:
- Provide oversight for Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Fee Billing, Financial Reporting, restructures, product and fund life cycle events, as well as all related services delivered by our outsourced vendors in Australia as well as overseas locations
- Engage in communicating with senior stakeholder and proactive relationship management with internal and/or external parties
- Influence and drive change incorporating business and client requirement and drive strategic insight and managerial participation with Leadership Teams across APAC
- Support the team with technical expertise especially in the area of products, operational processes and vendor management
- Take a lead role in all service delivery initiatives and provide a strong focus around automation utilizing various tools to enhance operational efficiency
- Conduct analysis of query trends, root cause analysis and deep dives to improve client experience and remove operational roadblocks
- Monitor market developments in different markets and understand how regulations impact operational processes and the funds
- Design, develop and coordinate the oversight and governance framework by updating policies and procedures to comply with local regulations and implementing and monitoring internal controls to ensure compliance
- Act as a Relationship Manager for Australian vendors and ensure close collaboration with our Investment Teams, Middle Office teams, Compliance, Legal and various Internal teams
- Analyse root-cause of recurring issues through regular review of metrics, assist in developing programmes for service enhancements arising from these reviews, and assist in Fund reviews and ad-hoc global projects implementation across the wider business
- Review operational processes to identify areas for enhancement and identify and escalate key risks and participate in resolution
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's Degree holder in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related disciplines
- At least 10 years’ experience in asset management industry
- Demonstrated experience and current working knowledge of fund accounting and tax processes and deliverables
- Proven high performance track record within operational teams
- Excellent inter-personal communication skills, being able to foster complex conversations with all levels of people internally and externally
- Experience in delivering strategic projects with impactful results
- Ability to demonstrate high risk awareness, operational control, problem solving and process improvement experience
- Experience working within a fast paced environment where accuracy is critical
- Project management skills
- Issue handling skills is extremely important, from detection to escalation, root-cause analysis, implementation of corrective and preventative actions
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Strong data management skills will be considered to be an advantage
- Experience with both local and international asset management firms
- Demonstrated proficiency with Python, Alteryx, UiPath
- Knowledge in business intelligence and data visualization platform such as Business Objects, Qlikview and QlikSense
