As a Regulatory Policy Assistant Director, you’ll be
Your key responsibilities
- Assists team with development and execution of the EY Office of Public Policy strategy, including engagement with Washington policymakers and other stakeholders.
- Develop subject matter expertise in policy areas critical to the firm, including covering congressional hearings and other related events as warranted.
- Produces written deliverables for internal use and distribution.
- At times, assists EY legislative team and/or EYPAC representative in political activities relevant to the firm’s priorities.
- Responsible for communications distribution channel management.
Skills and attributes for success
- Demonstrated understanding of US Congressional and Administration policy-making processes, including an understanding of the roles and decision makers in the Executive agencies, the White House, the Senate and the House, as well as the role of think tanks and associations.
- Proven research, writing and editing skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Able to learn and utilize communication tools and techniques available within the firm
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Receives general supervision and works independently within the area of expertise.
- Must be able to independently monitor events, understand critical points and summarize for distribution within EY.
- Through monitoring of legislative and public policy issues that affect the profession, be able to anticipate policy trends and help formulate advocacy strategies.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 + years of relevant experience, preferably some experience on Capitol Hill, lobbying or regulatory policy.
- Must be able to attend EY and Congressional events some evenings and weekends. Must be able to attend on site EY meetings in the Washington, DC office multiple days a week.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Financial Services experience a plus.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $101,000 to $188,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $121,200 to $214,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
