- Establishment and Achievement of Objectives: Understands sales goals and assists manager in establishing business plan. Coordinates efforts to fulfill quarterly and annual objectives. Reassesses objectives and obstacles with manager as necessary. Achieves annual sales targets and objectives.
- Sales and Marketing: Learns and applies business unit marketing policies, procedures, and plans. Utilizes selling process to achieve sales results. Demonstrates knowledge and use of social selling tools to create connections with Industry and Customers. Learns to demonstrate and train external customers on product application. Represents business unit products and services to customers and prospects. May provide appropriate sales support services to customers and distributors, based on level of knowledge. Demonstrates understanding of individual product value prepositions. Proactively reports all new of unusual pertinent market conditions, competitor activities, and product performance information to supervisor.
- Coordination and Planning: Learns to plan and manage time and resources for effective coverage of territory, communications, and other responsibilities. Works within budget guidelines.
- Administration: Maintains and communicates account and prospect information, maintains company resources, and sales support materials.
- Policy: Learns and applies the business unit’s sales policies, practices, and procedures.
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND five (5) years of outside sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Or
- High School Degree/ GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND eight 8 years of outside sales experience selling Janitorial Sanitation (JAN-SAN) Products in a private, public, government or military environment.
AND
- Current, valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records review prior to start.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience in selling JAN-SAN products into Healthcare, Education, Building Service Contractors, and Retail customers.
- Sales Force Proficiency – experience with CRM programs.
- Sales experience in JAN-SAN supply industry.
- Distribution sales experience.
- Good presentation skills.
- Good communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Bi-lingual English/ Spanish.
- Ability to demonstrate product and processes at any time day or night.
- Ability to travel at least 50% with some overnights as necessary. Weekend travel necessary from time to time to attend trade shows and sales meetings.
- Self- starter/ self-directed that leads with high energy and passion.
Work location:
- Hybrid Eligible -Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to customer accounts in the Pacific Northwest area (Washington, Oregon, Idaho) at least 4 days per week.
- Seattle/ Tacoma, WA area.
