US – Tax - National Tax – Tax Technology and Transformation – SAP Tax Integration - Senior
Tax Technology and Transformation offers services to companies in response to the continually expanding data processing, management, and analytics burden needed to support their tax compliance, reporting, and planning obligations. We help our clients optimize their leverage of existing and emerging technology to:
- Maintain a cost-effective tax function, reducing the manual effort needed for day-to-day compliance
- Meet new global requirements for tax reporting such as e-invoicing and BEPS Pillar Two
- Transform end to end processes, driving standardization and leading practices across the organization wherever tax is a relevant component
- Re-envisage the use of tax-relevant data as a key business asset to make faster and more insightful decisions.
Tax Technology and Transformation comprises the following services
- Digital tax transformation
- SAP tax integration; S/4HANA experience a plus (core financials plus related ecosystem applications such as SAP Analytics Cloud (“SAC”), SAP Profitability and Performance Management (“PaPM”), SAP Document Reporting and Compliance (“DRC”), etc.)
- Direct and indirect tax systems implementation and configuration (e.g. ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Corptax, ONESOURCE Determination, Vertex)
- Tax applications as a service
- Tax data and improvement
- Tax analytics and reporting enhancements
- Emerging tax technology, including robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud solutions, data lake development and business intelligence innovation
- Tax technology program mobilization
- Custom tax technology application development and deployment
- Tax technology strategy and road map development
- Post-transaction (M&A) tax function operational services
- Tax operating model transformation, including process improvement, risk, governance and controls
- Tax function assessments

You will be working on the entire delivery lifecycle of large finance and tax transformation programs (and supporting the associated sales/pursuit process for new engagements). You will help our clients leverage SAP technology and related third-party applications to realize enterprise value by improving their tax function (supporting and automating internal and external operations).

The ideal candidate will also:
- Demonstrate an understanding of how ERP transformation programs are delivered using agile methodology, and what tax input is relevant at each phase
- Understand key tax processes and be able to translate related data/reporting needs into ERP system requirements/user stories
- Be experienced in working collaboratively on a cross-functional basis across tax, finance, and supply chain (from industry roles) or across tax and advisory (from consulting roles)
- Have a history of contributing to the development of thought leadership
- Have a proven track record in delivering high quality work in alignment with key business metrics
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a master's degree in Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- A minimum of three years of related experience
- Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned
- A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
- Excellent communication and business writing skills
- A natural flair for problem solving and an entrepreneurial approach to work
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving business skills
- A demonstrated ability to successfully contribute to the sale and delivery large enterprise programs
- A broad understanding of tax accounting and major tax processes
- Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment
Ideally, you'll also have
- Familiarity with third-party direct or indirect tax systems (such as ONESOURCE, Corptax, Vertex, etc.)
- Experience defining data and reporting needs for a tax department
- Enterprise resource planning (ERP) experience, including SAP or Oracle
- Experience managing large, multidisciplinary projects that impact tax (e.g., ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, finance transformations)

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $95,600 to $157,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $114,700 to $179,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
