What you’ll be doing:

  • Be a trusted legal partner and work collaboratively with relevant internal groups to navigate wide-ranging employment related matters, including: hiring and recruiting; drafting, amending and negotiating agreements and policies with a strong understanding of employment terms and compliance, specifically contingent worker agreements; performance management; managing investigations; wage and hour issues; workers’ compensation; leaves of absence; workplace accommodations; employee benefits (401k); immigration; global mobility; terminations; position eliminations; and general support of the human resources team.

  • Assist in the investigation of and response to demand letters and administrative or governmental inquiries and in the management of employment litigation matters.

  • Partner with various internal stakeholders to determine strategy and approach in connection with M&A matters, the internal Investigations function, company-human resources related initiatives, and employment-related policies, guidelines, and processes, with an approach that balances pragmatism, risk, and compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. laws, regulations and policies.

  • Work with outside counsel on employment related matters and educate clients and partners on legalmatters/developments,policies and procedures.


What we need to see:

  • Current member in good standing of the California State Bar.

  • Law degree from top law school with excellent academic credentials.

  • 12+ years of substantive employment experience with a corporate legal department and/or a nationally recognized law firm.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent legal and business judgment and attention to detail.

  • Highly motivated, independently driven, and good interpersonal skills, with a consistent track record of successful collaboration with cross-discipline and multi-functional teams that coordinate effectively across organizational boundaries and geographies.

  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage deadlines, workflow, and team execution in a very fast-based and demanding work environment.

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships, credibility and trust with internal clients, customers, legal team members and other colleagues.

  • Ability to think creatively, function independently and work proactively.

  • Handle complexity and demands with a sense of urgency, drive and passion.
