Job Description:

The Intel Patent Litigation Group has an immediate opening for a senior litigation counsel. In this position, you will be reporting to the Director of Patent Litigation and will manage certain Intel patent litigation matters.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Directly managing your litigation team, which could include outside attorneys, in-house paralegals, litigation support specialists, engineers, and business managers.

  • Developing briefs, oral arguments and trial strategies, and generally providing overall guidance and direction to outside counsel, including ensuring the progress of the litigation towards identified strategic goals and monitoring and evaluating the impact achieved.

  • Independently managing all discovery efforts for your cases.

  • Assisting with efficiency and other improvements within the department.

  • Providing counseling to the various business units on significant legal matters.

  • Helping to manage the large litigation portfolio of the company including though maintaining strong relationships with our outside counsel and other advocates.

  • Identifying opportunities to achieve strategic impact through litigation in close collaboration with national-level lawyers and partners.

Qualifications:

You should possess a juris doctorate degree from an accredited institution, a license to practice law in at least one state in the United States, and at least eight years of experience as a full-time litigator in patent litigation. Trial experience in U.S. District Court, Federal Circuit, ITC, and/or Inter Partes Review practice is preferred.


Additional qualifications include:

  • Stellar oral and written advocacy skills.

  • Excellent teaming and project leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated personal courtroom success, including participation in jury selection and trial strategy.

  • Ability to travel out-of-state and potentially internationally depending on the locations and status of the cases assigned to you.

  • Ability to function and manage independently, but also work well in an environment that requires working with others to be successful.

  • Experience in managing very large and complex cases.

  • Experience in foreign patent litigation.
