POSITION: Corporate Banking –Associate, Energy Group
Associates in our Corporate Banking groups are involved with the structuring, execution and monitoring of debt transactions (e.g. corporate revolvers, term loans, bridge loans and acquisition financing) from inception through closing. Working with clients across the oil and gas spectrum, spanning upstream, midstream, downstream, and oilfield services, you will gain exposure to different business models and industry dynamics as TD works to build its market share in the Houston oil and gas market.
In this capacity you will:
• Analyze deal structures and terms and assist with deal negotiations and documentation;
• Analyze the engineering data of oil and gas producers, and develop reserve models to evaluate company assets and determine debt capacity and appropriate capital structures;
• Create detailed models to project clients’ future cash flows and credit ratios;
• Gather and analyze trends in qualitative and quantitative data such as oil & gas price dynamics, oil & gas producer cost structures, midstream takeaway capacity, and the impact of commodity prices and oil & gas production levels on midstream and refining clients;
• Spread and monitor clients’ historical financial performance;
• Prepare and present credit recommendations for new and existing energy clients;
• Compile data through due diligence and prepare comprehensive credit reviews that analyze transactions and client risks; and
• Prepare client presentations.Qualifications: Associates come from a variety of educational backgrounds; however, a major or significant coursework in a business-related field is required, along with a combination of strong financial/analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Successful candidates must have the capacity to become adept at financial modeling and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
