Description
You will own the end-to-end design, development and validation of sensing technology into Apple’s portfolio of products. You will work with a talented multifunctional team to generate design concepts, and as the mechanical expert you will be responsible for engineering analysis and documentation for your piece of the project:- Identifying design tradeoffs and risks to choose viable paths forward.- Applying good experiment design and the scientific method to reduce design risk early.- Running tolerance studies to ensure designs are feasible over manufacturing tolerances.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including properties of materials, solid mechanics, beam statics, Newtonian physics, and thermodynamics.
  • 3D CAD experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to craft clear engineering documentation.
  • Able to effectively collaborate with diverse team members and external vendors to achieve project goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High volume, consumer electronics or sensing experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience designing for a production environment is a plus.
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $58.61 and $88.29/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
