We are looking for a GBS Accounting Manager (Subject Matter Expert) - Compensation. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing various aspects of Jacobs' compensation-related financial reporting and disclosures, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with US GAAP and SEC requirements. Your expertise will play a critical role in supporting our global team and contributing to the company's financial transparency.
As the GBS Accounting Manager (Subject Matter Expert) - Compensation field, here’s how you’ll contribute:
- Prepare Jacobs’ compensation plans sections of the quarterly SEC Forms 10-Q and annual Form 10-K in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Execute quarterly closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations for deferred compensation and other employer incentive plans.
- Conduct thorough reviews of deferred compensation assets/liabilities and prepare accurate deferred compensation roll forward schedules.
- Perform monthly closing tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations for temporary equity related transactions for the invested company.
- Develop and maintain temporary equity roll forward schedules and other relevant reports on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and review the SOX control testing procedures, provide assistance during internal and external audits.
- Ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial disclosures in annual reports, proxy statements, and other relevant filings.
- Collaborate closely with global team members, offering guidance and support to ensure consistent and accurate financial reporting.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures related to compensation activities, with a focus on process enhancement, automation, and efficiency.
- Engage in cross-functional projects, extending support to others on matters related to financial reporting and disclosure.
- Demonstrate a commitment to adherence to US GAAP, Company policies, SEC reporting standards, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
- Provide ad hoc reports, analyses and support to both external auditors and internal management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Active CPA license or equivalent (local CA/ACCA)
- Professional accounting experience (7+ years) including at least 1-2 years of external audit
- Strong accounting knowledge in the compensation field (compensation plans/benefits)
- Exposure to consolidations, international accounting and reporting issues relating to the compensation plans
- Self-starter and work independently with minimal supervision
- Advanced excel user, including pivot tables and lookups for large volume of data
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and external auditors
- Ability and willingness to be flexible and work late/early hours, especially during month end and quarter end close, to allow successful cooperation with US time zone-based teams and corporate stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with a large ERP system and reporting tool (Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle preferred)
- Preparation of footnote disclosures for 10-Q/K
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and external auditors
