Delivering extraordinary Apple products made of soft materials is an exciting challenge that requires a cohesive team of creative, open-minded thinkers with a wide variety of backgrounds. We work together in several alluring, customized labs where we design, engineer and develop the best products in the world. As a Softgoods Materials Lab Engineer, you will provide in-depth material knowledge across a range of products and drive scientific studies through designing experiments, gathering characterization data and analyzing results. You will work with design, manufacturing and reliability teams to spec key material properties, develop novel test methods, anticipate risks, and perform root cause analyses. With this team, you will innovate at the material level to create unique aesthetics and highly functional softgoods products that amaze and delight our customers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MS in Mechanical Engineering (Materials Focus), Materials Science, Polymer Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of hands-on lab experience with soft materials
  • excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to a multi-disciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in degrees listed above
  • 3+ years of industry experience focusing on applied R&D for soft materials
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
