The Director of Technology Governance is a key role in Citi’s Engineering & Architecture group in the CTO’s organization to establish and manage mature technology processes for the firm. This role will be a key contributor to enhance Citi’s ability to create and maintain mature Technology Standards and Procedures and enable organizational adoption and adherence. This position requires a strong change leader to consistently maintain a deep understanding of Citi’s technology Standards, Procedures and process and engage with Risk Partners, Audit and Regulators when required.
A good understanding of the industry best practices, compliance requirements, regulatory bodies, relevant regulations, standards, and policies is necessary to ensure compliance and enabling Citi to adhere to its commitments. The role requires a thorough understanding of technology delivery lifecycle processes, enterprise architecture frameworks, technology governance processes and technology and cyber risk management measures and metrics to drive continuous improvements and automation.
A strong understanding of the risk landscape and establishing mature automated technology processes and preventative controls, in line with standards and regulatory requirements will be critical to the success of this role.
Excellent communication skills are a key ingredient to engage and lead interactions with internal leaders and the Regulators.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage mature technology delivery processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in technology delivery and governance processes via automation and leveraging innovative solutions.
- Influence and improve developer experience and productivity by continuous process improvements, reduction in manual effort, enabling process and controls automation.
- Consistent and proactive updates to relevant technology processes to ensure Citi stays aligned with industry best practices.
- Acts as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and addresses high impact strategic issues across the firm. Work in close partnership with senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities and issues of strategic importance to Technology leaders to enable maturity in technology processes, governance and adherence.
- Proactively develop recommendations to advise Citi's senior management on high-priority initiatives to ensure compliance to regulations, Standards and Policies.
- Coordinate communications with key internal and external stakeholders
- Provide clarity in complex problems, facilitate decision-making, and guide high value investments.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with executives across the firm.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications and requirements:
- Strong experience in Software Delivery Lifecycle Standards, Procedures and processes
- Strong experience in driving process reengineering and automation
- Strong experience in Architecture Frameworks
- Strong experience in Architecture Governance
- Strong experience in technology risk management and compliance.
- Experience in engaging with Regulators is preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in people management.
- Ability to engage and influence executive leadership teams.
- Ability to lead and direct a team of knowledge professionals. Problem structuring and analytic capabilities; ability to take a complex problem and organize it in discrete pieces for solution.
- Ability to work effectively with senior and middle level managers and with large interdisciplinary teams.
- Collaborative work style; effectively interacts with partners across organizational boundaries/hierarchies.
- Displays a leadership presence; commands respect and will earn trust of senior leaders. Multi-tasks productively and reliably, while managing conflicting priorities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
