Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a highly skilledspecializing inandto drive our audit initiatives, ensuring full compliance with applicable federal regulations and internal risk management standards. As the lead auditor, you will be the primary liaison for federal audit requests fromBureau of Fiscal Service, overseeing audits of the bank's operations and ensuring the compliance of third-party vendors.

This role will require managing audits conducted by federal entities such as theand developing a robust vendor audit process that ensures third-party service providers meet all regulatory and compliance standards. Your expertise in regulatory compliance and vendor audits will be critical to maintaining the bank’s risk management frameworks. Communication and coordination with third party vendors will be vital.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage federal audits, particularly those conducted by the GAO , and serve as the main point of contact for audit requests from Bureau of Fiscal Service .
  • Oversee and conduct vendor audits to ensure third-party vendors adhere to U.S. Bank’s risk management and regulatory requirements .
  • Collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to develop and maintain risk management frameworks aligned with federal guidelines and vendor management standards.
  • Identify and address gaps in internal processes, systems, and vendor controls, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist in managing vendor invoicing and financial tracking, ensuring vendor costs align with contractual agreements and bank policies.
  • Serve as the liaison between U.S. Bank and federal agencies, ensuring clear communication and full compliance with audit requirements.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive audit findings that are clear, actionable, and tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations across U.S. Bank's operations and vendor relationships.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (required for compliance with federal security standards).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, audit, or risk management, including federal audit experience including GAO or other federal entity audits.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience managing or conducting vendor audits in a highly regulated industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal auditing standards and prior experience working with Bureau of Fiscal Service or other federal financial entities.
  • Expertise in managing GAO audits, including the preparation and presentation of findings to various stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of vendor risk management and compliance processes, particularly in auditing third-party vendors.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a proven track record in leading complex audits and compliance initiatives across multiple organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex audit findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) , Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) , or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) are highly desirable. Leadership & Management: As the Senior Lead Auditor, you will mentor and guide junior audit staff, ensuring the effective management of audit timelines and processes.You will be the primary point of contact between U.S. Bank , federal regulators, and external audit bodies, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant audit processes.
  • Knowledge of Federal security frameworks, including FedRAMP High, FISMA boundaries, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) , and National Institute of Standards and Technology’s ( NIST ) standards.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $128,435.00 - $151,100.00 - $166,210.00
