A TechOps Specialist at Orca AI is responsible for managing deployed systems - including the hardware, software, and networking components, and delivering excellent technical support.

What will you do?

• Provide technical support to customers worldwide and Troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Automate processes and tasks to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.
• Solve networking technical issues
• Overseeing new customer installations
• Deploying SW upgrades
• Work closely with other teams, such as development, DevOps, QA, and PM, to ensure that systems are aligned with business needs and goals.
• Occasional travel to customer sites for advanced troubleshooting

What You'll Do

As a Senior System Engineer at Orca AI, you'll be the technical lead for system-related aspects of our products. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deliver robust solutions that redefine maritime operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Define System Architecture: Establish hardware and software requirements for new and existing products.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work alongside Product Management and R&D Team Leaders to ensure seamless design, implementation, and testing.
• Understand Customer Needs: Analyze market trends and customer feedback to shape technical solutions.
• Lead System Integration: Oversee hardware and software integration, ensuring smooth interactions between components.
• Support Field Operations: Provide technical support for field trials, customer deployments, and production processes.
• Problem-Solving: Identify, communicate, and resolve technical challenges throughout the development lifecycle.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor technical team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

• Understand Customer Needs: Analyze market trends and customer feedback to shape technical solutions.
• Lead System Integration: Oversee hardware and software integration, ensuring smooth interactions between components.
• Support Field Operations: Provide technical support for field trials, customer deployments, and production processes.

What will you do?

• Experience with Vision Transformers, Graph Neural Networks, or Autoencoders.
• Knowledge of Projective Geometry, SLAM, or camera calibration techniques.
• Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Jetson or edge computing platforms.
• Familiarity with maritime technology or autonomous systems.

● Develop computer vision algorithms for object detection, tracking, depth estimation, and perception.

● Build and train deep learning models to enable complex scene perception for real-time analysis.

● Collaborate with team members to define future technology and features.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design and architecture of innovative data systems from scratch to production in order to support Orca’s analytics initiatives.
• Leverage innovative and modern data platforms to manage, transform, and process data for data analysis, ML and AI models, supporting real-time and batch-processing workflows.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement data solutions that support model training, monitoring, and production deployment.
• Design, develop and maintain ETL workflows for maritime data sources.
• Develop backend services that perform data transformations to standardize data and prepare it for production level

Requirements and Skills:

• 5+ years’ experience as a data engineer / BI developer or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience working with large DWH / data analytics structures and developing pipelines in a BigData environment.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL with advanced analytics data orientation.
• Proficient with Python programming and OOP concepts.
• Experience in breaking down complex business problems into clear, implementable technical specifications
• Experience in designing and implementing decision engines that can:
• Process multiple input parameters
• Apply complex conditional logic
• Generate consistent and predictable outputs
• Excellent understanding of data and schema standards and concepts.
• Experience in a Cloud Native environment, such as AWS – an advantage.
• Experience with Snowflake – an advantage.
