As a Senior Environmental Planner, you’ll use your skills and experience to support regulatory compliance, permitting and environmental documentation at the Federal, state, and local levels primarily in Colorado and other Western states. You’ll support a variety of transportation (including transit and trails), water, renewable energy, and utility projects. As a Senior Environmental Planner with us, you’ll have the opportunity to play a role in all stages of the environmental planning process, including performing alternatives analyses, researching, and writing technical reports for NEPA and SEPA documents, preparing permit applications, and participating in public involvement processes. Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

• Collect environmental, social and/or economic data to be used in developing alternatives to study under NEPA and in assessing impacts.
• Lead processes of scoping, developing purpose and need, developing alternatives and preparing documents in compliance with NEPA.
• Prepare and/or contribute to NEPA documents, including Categorical Exclusions (CEs), Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs).
• Provide quality control reviews.
• Perform various aspects of environmental planning assignments, applying knowledge of environmental planning principles. Work independently, participate in setting assignment objectives, schedules, budgets, and deadlines. Work collaboratively with other team members.
• May provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel.
• Collaborative team approach internally and externally; contact with clients and public and regulatory agencies.

As an Environmental Planner based out of Denver, Colorado you’ll have the opportunity to use your specialized in-depth knowledge and play a role in all stages of performing alternative analyses and play a role in public involvement for a variety of transportation, water and utility projects for a diverse public and private client base. You’ll work independently to solve a range of complex problems as you grow your career. You’ll use best practices of NEPA and other environmental regulations to prepare well written environmental documentation for our clients. You’ll also research and prepare technical reports for NEPA documents, prepare permit applications as well as coordinate regulatory permitting issues with internal and regulatory agency staff.

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Develop and maintain the process, procedures and job aids by which Power Delivery develops, maintains and communicates project schedules
• Develop, maintain and analyze Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for variety of project types within Power Delivery
• Engage in all activities associated with project planning, scheduling, forecasting, monitoring and critical path analysis
• Develop master schedule templates for various typical project types
• Assist the Project Managers and project team in the development of detailed functional schedules required in the execution of projects. Schedules shall reflect design, procurement and construction workflow and include necessary logic ties to accurately reflect any scheduling impacts and provide accurate forecasts
• Work with the project team members to provide accurate and timely updates to project schedules
• Monitor, analyze and forecast on a regular basis, providing schedule reports including critical path, milestone and short term look ahead reports
• Report any schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions
• Develop and implement resource loaded schedules when required
• Develop and implement cash loaded schedules when required
• Develop and implement schedule based earned value reporting
• Experience with integrating corporate finance system data with Primavera scheduling data to integrate project estimates with project plans and project actual man-hours and dollars
• May be required to direct the schedule related activities of Schedulers and Scheduling Coordinators.
• Develop and deliver schedule related training to the PMO and operational staff.
• Provide effective customer service to internal and external clients
