The objective of our consulting risk services is to provide clients with a candid and reliable overview of their risk landscape. Our solutions can be used by our clients to build confidence and trust with their customers, the overall market, and when required by regulation or contract.

Your key responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading and managing consulting projects focused on regulatory compliance for power utilities. You will develop and implement compliance strategies and programs tailored to client needs, conduct regulatory risk assessments, and provide actionable recommendations. You will stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure clients are informed and compliant. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions, mentor and develop junior consultants, and build and maintain strong client relationships. You will also contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Provide guidance and share knowledge with team members and participate in overseeing procedures, especially focusing on complex, judgmental, and/or specialized issues.
  • Evaluate regulatory accounting treatment applied by the client.
  • Analyze and interpret relevant regulations and key industry guidelines (such as general rate case for regulated utilities) to understand client implications.
  • Review detailed flowcharts based on stakeholder walkthroughs to outline key worksteps, identify relevant systems and data points, and inventory risks and controls.
  • Assess large data sets and sample evidence to support detailed testing and regulatory compliance filings.
  • Leverage strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate regulations, related considerations, and testing conclusions to key stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with client management to manage expectations of service, including work products, timing, and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of compliance, financial, and operational risks along with performing internal control testing, developing audit plans, and providing regulatory compliance services on an outsourcing basis.
  • Bring and utilize knowledge of the client's business/industry to identify technological developments and evaluate impacts on the client's business.
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.
  • Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to serve clients.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's or master's degree.
  • CPA certification
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance within the power utilities sector.
  • Proven track record of managing consulting projects and delivering results.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Bring experience in applying relevant technical skills related to accounting, external auditing or forensic accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Your key responsibilities

As a Tax Services Manager, you'll work on engagements that span 100+ countries with local EY teams of 300+ people and have the opportunity to assist in the growth of this practice. You'll assist in validation and governance of global finance operations utilizing one global methodology to track the end-to-end process and provide subsidiary governance throughout legal-entity life cycle to mitigate risk and increase corporate transparency.

  • Ability to package analysis into presentations for internal leaders and clients to facilitate decision making, including the preparation and presentation of the statutory reporting compliance calendar and status
  • Ability to use accounting knowledge and experience to interpret the handling of statutory reporting or accounting matters to develop options to resolve issues in consultation with supervisors

  • Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, third parties, and external PR agency partners to help generate positive coverage.
  • Assist with issues and crisis communications planning and response, ensuring rapid, coordinated execution when needed.
  • Track, measure, and report on campaign results, media activity, and reputation impact.
  • Uphold the highest standards of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential information.

  • Demonstrated success in managing projects end-to-end and delivering measurable results.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. regulatory and legislative environment and its intersection with corporate communications.
  • Experience working directly with senior leaders and providing strategic communications counsel.

Your key responsibilities

You will be responsible for leading and managing consulting projects focused on regulatory compliance for power utilities. You will develop and implement compliance strategies and programs tailored to client needs, conduct regulatory risk assessments, and provide actionable recommendations. You will stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure clients are informed and compliant. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions, mentor and develop junior consultants, and build and maintain strong client relationships.
