What you will accomplish:

• Lead ethics investigations in APAC in collaboration with management, including developing investigation plans, conducting investigations of reported misconduct, extracting and analyzing data, interviewing witnesses and subjects as needed, collaborating with partners including Legal, People, and Security, and tracking recommended remediation

• Be a trusted partner to regional business units and functional leads on ethics matters

• Develop and implement regional training and communications on ethics & compliance topics

• Support onboarding of, collaboration with, and provide ongoing support to APAC ethics ambassadors

• Help ensure compliance with anti-corruption policies and applicable laws and regulations

• Promote a “speak up” culture within the employee population

• Monitor systems managed by partner teams and oversee implementation of recommended remediation steps

• Build and maintain periodic reports on compliance program data

What you will bring:

• 6+ years of Ethics & Compliance experience or experience in a related control function such as Legal, Finance, Audit, or Investigations

• Ability to provide pragmatic, risk-based advice, drive execution across organizational lines, and manage and think globally

• Strong process and problem-solving skills, including prioritization of matters, proactive identification of issues and risks, and implementation of mitigation plans

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively; fluency in Mandarin and proficiency in English are required

• Experience leading internal investigations

• Experience and expertise with MS Office, G Suite, and Salesforce

• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in law, finance, or a related field preferred

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on scalability.

• Extensive experience with Java programming and system design.

• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable solutions in a live business environment.

• Strong understanding of streaming services and business operations for both sellers and buyers.

• Experience with performance testing, tuning, and optimization techniques.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address scalability challenges.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

• Familiarity with cloud services and distributed systems is a plus.

• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of database optimization and management.

• WebSocket experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with peers, Architects, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Quality Engineers, and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that meet functional and non-functional standards and expectations.

Job Requirements:

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related field or 10 years of relevant experience

• Experience in building large, reliable, scalable distributed systems

• Experience with building event-driven applications

• Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs

• Excellent communication and lead skills to be able work and collaborate with other teams involved in our projects.

• Prove experience in architecting backend systems

• Deep understanding of design patterns, and experience working in a layered architecture

• Knowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithms

• Experience with modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery

• Work closely w/ colleagues and customers in different functional groups and remote offices

• Past experience with Live Commerce or Live Stream is big PLUS.

• Hands on experience with GraphQL is a big plus

• Experience on web socket is a big plus
