Define position sensing system architectures, use-case requirements, specifications, and validation criteria and document in Engineering Requirements Specifications.Design and model position sensing systems behaviorally to predict performance over nominal, sensitivity, and Monte-Carlo analyses.
Contribute to development, implementation, and maintenance of test and calibration codebase for sensing systems
  • B.S. in EE, ECE, Engineering Physics, or similar.
  • Skills and/or experience with magnetic or optical or similar sensing systems.
  • Training and/or experience with Electrical Engineering (EE) fundamentals including: analog and digital or ‘mixed-signal’ electronics, and signal processing.
  • Skills and experience implementing behavioral models of sensing system signal chains in tools like MATLAB or PYTHON or similar to interrogate performance.
  • Experience with measurement science, calibration, and physical modeling.
  • PhD in EE, ECE, Engineering Physics, or similar.
  • 10+ years of work/industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply systems engineering concepts, first principles, and analysis to connect use-case requirements to system-level requirements to component level requirements. Document requirements in Engineering Requirements Specifications.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis tools like JMP for high volume manufacturing data analysis.
  • Experience with magneto-static simulations using Finite Element Analysis tools like ANSYS or COMSOL or similar.
  • Familiarity with cameras, optics, and control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal skills - the ability to collaborate across groups. Self-motivated, able to lead projects independently.
