The Tooling Engineer will support the program on path from R&D, through design validation, into production. You will develop, design, analyze, and implement custom tooling and equipment required for assembling and testing (QTP/ATP) the satellite. You will need to convert the requests from various teams into systems that are easy to use, cost effective, and accurate. In addition, you will be responsible for project management, cost estimate and scheduling. You will manage and support fabrication, testing and commissioning of the tooling into manufacturing.This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you'll work with leaders in multiple technology areas. - 2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, systems engineering or related field
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, and advanced assemblies
