EY German Speaking Tax Consultant - Fresh Graduates

Your key responsibilities

  • Analysis of fiscal data and tax questionnaires.
  • Participating in tax briefings to advice expatriates on questions around the process of EY assistance as well as requirements they might have to full fill from a tax perspective and potential tax consequences in Germany (in German, English and/or Hungarian language).
  • Preparation of tax returns for tax residents and non-residents in Germany and align with foreign EY offices on tax positions.
  • Preparation of fiscal equalization calculations and hypothetical taxes in case the company requires it.
  • Review of tax assessments / tax inquiries issued by the German tax authority.
  • Participation in weekly calls with the Seniors and Managers in charge of the accounts.
  • Keep the Senior in charge of the team informed of the progress of their work.
  • Participation in technical trainings.
  • Assisting team members with caseload as required

Qualifications and experience

  • Master’s students or Bachelor graduates in Accounting, Business/Public Administration, Economics or HR.
  • C1 level of German language both written and verbal, is required in order to successfully execute the day-to-day work.
  • Fluency in English language - both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

  • Any experience of working with German personal income tax laws and/or with DATEV Income Tax software will be an added advantage.
  • Prior work experience in a corporate environment is not a requirement but would be an advantage.
