The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Serving as CBG’s Supplier Quality subject matter expert to drive process improvements forsupplier corrective action requests (SCARs), supplier qualifications and evaluations and quality
Engaging directly with suppliers to resolve product quality issues to drive corrective actions and obtain appropriate compensation
Leading deployment of supplier quality management processes in collaboration with central Supplier Performance and Sourcing teams to drive Cost of Quality (COQ) programs
Driving Quality tools in NPI to accelerate projects while mitigating risk by ensuring consumer needs are met, test methods are robust, specifications are well defined, and manufacturing processes are capable
Managing existing product quality enhancement through use of continuous improvement methods and tools, such as: Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Design of Experiments (DOE), Customer Quality Index (CQI) and Quality at the Source
Ensuring commercialized product design intent and product integrity is retained as materials, processes, methods, and specifications change in support of quality improvement, source of supply changes and cost reduction efforts
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Six (6) years of combined experience Quality Engineering, Supplier Management, Quality Management Systems, Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis and/or Design Control within a private, public, government, or military environment
Two (2) years of experience working with suppliers in a quality improvement capacity
Two (2) years of experience with Quality Tools such as House of Quality (HOQ/QFD), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), etc.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Experience working with ISO9001:2015
Experience with statistical analysis
Manufacturing experience
ASQ certification
