Purchasing Senior Manager

Purchasing focuses on planning, coordinating and controlling raw materials, and sub assembly inventory in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Responsibilities include material expediting, movement and transactions. The task of Purchasing is to ensure that the Raw material/ End products required are available at the lowest possible cost at the right time, in the right place and in the right quantity. Review of purchase order due dates, to avoid out of stock situations and prevent excess and obsolete inventory. Working closely with Internal & External customers to develop and implement strategic and operational sourcing plans for the ongoing supply management at the lowest total cost to meet the defined requirements of a Unit/Business Line/Sector. Responsible to implement world class purchasing processes and methodologies to ensure regulatory and compliance standards, service levels to internal & external customers and efficiency and effectiveness are fully met.

Accountability for short and long term assurance of supply, supplier performance and selection and supply management information/data management, providing support and guidance to operational and initial buyers.

Responsibilities:

  • Leader and direct management of Buyers Group.
  • Ongoing supplier evaluation and management.
  • Repair/return management
  • Maintain and implement commodity operational.
  • Lead continuous improvement of processes and technologies that support product/component decisions.
  • Manages assigned portfolio of suppliers at IS Ops level.
  • Monitor IS Ops KPI in terms of Inventory and Supply performances.

Education/Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Relevant academic degree, preferably Industrial Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in one of the following areas: Purchasing/Planning /Logistics/combined
  • At least 3-4 years direct people management - Preferred
  • Strong negotiation & communication skills.
  • Work experience in a multi-national organization.
  • English proficiency.
