- Strategic Payment Consultants (SPC) are part of the Enterprise Platform Growth Team, whose mission is to ensure that PayPal wins with enterprise merchants.
- SPCs do this by enabling a uniquely differentiated Payments Platform, building rich industry partnerships and providing the organization with payments strategy, subject matter expertise and thought leadership.

Your way to impact
- The successful candidate will be a client focused consultant, with deep industry expertise who enjoys helping solve complex business problems and is passionate about driving meaningful changes in the client experience.
- This role is client-facing and will partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to help ensure the realization of PayPal's commercial objectives and ensure customer-backed development within our product organization by representing voice of the merchant.
Your day-to-day
- Act as a trusted advisor to PayPal's top merchants by illustrating a deep expertise in our enterprise payment solutions and how they help optimize their business across the payments value chain.
- Develop a deep understanding of the needs of our most strategic clients and act as a source of insight and advocacy to shape the design of our products and inform the priorities on product roadmaps.
- Support strategic initiatives aimed at driving adoption of PayPal’s newest product innovations.
- Act as a cross functionality leader across internal and external stakeholders to drive client outcomes. This includes but is not limited to: Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Issuing Banks, and Payment Networks.
- Illustrate a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem and the ecommerce landscape. Stay up-to-date on the latest payment trends, including regulatory changes and network mandates and their impact on our customers' business models.
- Generate, leverage and scale insights from engagements to empower the broader PayPal organization, proactively source new business opportunities, and maintain PayPal's position as a thought leader.
What do you need to bring
- At least 5 years of experience in the payments industry, ideally in checkout, issuing, or card processing; Strong familiarity with North American market payment needs, including auth optimization, vaulting, funnel conversion dynamics, etc.
- At least 5 years of experience with a proven track record of client engagements in roles such as Sales, Relationship Management or Client Consulting.
- Superior communications (verbal, prose, PowerPoint) skills; concise, clear and convincing with external client experience.
- Track record of developing strategic insights and driving outcomes from quantitative and qualitative data. Experience with SQL with demonstrated ability to generate insights from data preferred.
- Familiarity with developer toolkits and integration components such as SDKs, APIs, etc.
- Strong collaborator, with experience working across teams to drive results. Experience working with product and engineering is a plus.
- Appetite to learn and comfortable with uncertainty.
- Bring a constant sense of optimism and curiosity. Jerks need not apply.
- Bachelors Degree required, MBA or quantitative degree preferred, but not mandatory
