The industrial engineer in the automotive industry is responsible for optimizing production processes, improving productivity, and reducing costs within automotive manufacturing plants. They work closely with various departments to ensure efficient production operations and high - quality output.
Process Improvement: analyze existing automotive production processes; enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall production flow; collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process changes; emphasize continuous improvement (Kaizen).
Assembly Line Balancing: analyze each station on the assembly line, reduce the waiting time; coordinate with PMC, Production, and other departments to implement the Just - in - Time (JIT) system; optimize the work pattern of DL/ IDL to reduce the workforce cost.
Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement: identify opportunities for cost reduction in production processes; conduct value - stream mapping to identify non - value - added activities and develop strategies for eliminating them; implement JEPS manufacturing principles and techniques to improve overall operational efficiency.
Facility involvement: collaborate with maintenance teams to develop preventive maintenance schedules for production equipment; participate in the design and layout of new production facilities to ensure optimal utilization of space and resources.
Safety: ensure that production processes and workstations comply with safety regulations and standards.
Our requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above majoring in engineering, preferably in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
5 years of experience in industrial engineering, exposure in automotive industry is a must.
With knowledge of process design and quality control tools. Knowledge of digital manufacturing technologies is a plus.
Familiar with tools like SPC, MSA, FMEA, etc.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Problem - solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement are essential.
