As a Vice President in the Base Metals trading team, you will be responsible for managing risk for broad range of Base (Copper, Aluminum, Nickel, Lithium, Cobalt included) and Bulk (Iron Ore, Steel included) commodities underliers. Role will require you to trade futures and options traded on global trading venues and increasingly on regional trading venues during Asia time zone. Furthermore, you will partner with client coverage team to provide bespoke risk management and financing solutions to a franchise of global and local clients of JPMorgan

Job responsibilities

  • Managing risk in global and regional Base and Bulk commodities trading book
  • Managing risk on global and regional trading venues
  • Making markets on forwards and options to JPM global client franchise
  • Managing and monitoring client flows and order book
  • Engage clients in partnership with coverage teams through market color and trade ideas
  • Collaborate with risk, technology and quantitative research teams to continuously enhance product platform

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Math or other related disciplines
  • At least 5 years of experience in Base Metals or other commodities underliers
  • With experience in trading over-the-counter derivative and/or listed futures & options
  • With experience in covering China commodities market – physical trading and/or futures trading on Chinese Exchanges (market making and/or proprietary trading)
  • In role with responsibility to manage risk and PNL in trading book
  • Strong, disciplined approach to our controls environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Mandarin speaker is preferred to support clients from China to effectively trade futures on Chinese commodities exchanges.
