You will be responsible for understanding our product innovation roadmap (incl. genAI-driven features) and how it will affect our infrastructure cost, and partnering with engineering leaders in an analytical and strategic capacity to develop key metrics and drive overall cloud efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES (non-exhaustive)- Work closely with Engineering and Data Science partners to drive the adoption and continued development of analytical tooling that estimates the infrastructure impact of A/B tests.
- Understand the Netflix consumer product innovation roadmap and how we expect it to impact our cloud infrastructure.
- Extensive analysis of our Cloud infrastructure, focusing on optimization and efficiency opportunities. Based on the findings, propose solutions and project manage cross-functional teams (software engineers, data engineers, analytics/viz engineers, etc.) through implementation.
- Provide strategic, ad-hoc analysis to engineering teams, senior leaders, and the broader finance organization.
- Report and iterate on key operational and financial metrics.
- Partner with our Data Science and Engineering teams to develop tools for cost visibility, deep analytics, and dashboarding.
QUALIFICATIONS- 4+ years of experience in a highly analytical environment -- worked in a consulting firm, strategy & operations, technical program management, or analytics at a technology company, or similarly demanding functions in which strategic analysis, partner management, and operational optimization is essential.
- Experience working as a business partner with technical engineering teams in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Ability to present to and context switch between peer groups and senior-level management.
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn internal data warehouse tools to independently (self-service) explore and analyze high-volume datasets.
- Working proficiency with SQL or other query languages. Bonus: Familiarity with Python or another scripting language.
- Expert with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Working knowledge of visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).
- Degree in economics, mathematics, engineering/ computer science, or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative competence.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $240,000.
