Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to triage, debug, and fix Linux kernel issues discovered in test and production environments.
- Competent in designing, developing, debugging, and validating excellent products.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with external entities (open-source communities, standards bodies, customers and/or partners).
- Passionate about quality and engineering excellence as one needs to work as an all-rounder engineer focusing on Development, Test, and Support.
- Knowledge in Python and one of the modern programming languages like Rust will be a plus.
- Experience in git, arm64, board bring-up, device drivers, and hardware busses (i2c, PCI, etc.).
- A history of contributing to the Linux kernel or other open-source projects
- Technical passion, problem-solving skills, and self-motivated.
- 4+ years of experience in system-level development on Linux in C
- Understanding and hands on experience with the Linux kernel and its core functionality like memory management, process scheduling, networking, storage, file system, etc.
- Experience with Linux kernel debugging tools, such as crash, drgn, and/or modern tracing tools.
