What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
- Provide leadership for New Product Introduction (NPI) at Suppliers, Lead supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality
- Review 2D ,3D CAD Mechanical Drawings and conduct DFM with suppliers
- Execute qualification activities, required for product release PPAP
- Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations
- Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics
- Accountable for leading, tracking and improving supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes
- Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential concerns across manufacturing lines and/or suppliers
- Provide input on new or alternative materials for improved design, manufacturability, or cost reduction
- Soft Skills Required Highly motivated, proactive engineer, Strong in Analytical Skills, Presentation Skill Strong communication skills with international teams, Strong Problem-Solving Skills Strong Interpersonal skills Experience working with International OEM/Supplier
- Able to work independently and under high pressure, an average of 50 - 60% travel, possibly on short notice
- Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Material/Manufacturing Engineering
- 4 to 8 Years Experience in Automotive Top Level Assembly Component Development preferred
- Experience in Quality Systems, PPAP/APQP processes, new product development and customer launch DFMEA & PFMEA and DFM
- In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection
- Knowledge of Plastic, Metal, Part Design, Tooling, and Manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of Automation in Manufacturing assembly, EOL testing of Electronic Modules
- Must be proficient with SPC and data analysis and have experience in using Statistical Software packages like Minitab or JMP, MS office, especially for Excel and PPT
- Exposure to Sensor Design, Testing & qualify Sensor components and assemblies
- Sensors include, Haptic, Tactile, Temperature, Pressure, Motion (Accelerometers ) Rain sensors, Audio, Lidar ,Cabin Radar, Cameras
- Hands on experience on developing Validation, Testing of Sensor components and assemblies
