SAP Software Engineer - Conversational AI

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own and develop services built on SAP’s CAP framework, responsible for content- and metadata management in document grounding, a foundational Joule capability

• Create and sustain GenAI digital assistants on Joule using LLMs and RAG

• Work with data scientists, software architects, and engineers to design and implement digital assistant functionalities

• Focus on security, scalability, reliability, and performance of system components

• Implement automated deployment and monitoring processes for digital assistants using CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins

• Keep abreast of the latest developments in AI, LLMs, and software development

• Integrate digital assistants with cloud platforms

• Work with data platforms such as Databricks, ADLS, and Apache Spark for efficient data management and processing

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Non-internship professional software development experience in the cloud

• Server-side development experience with JavaScript; alternatively, strong backend development skills in Java and willingness to switch

• Additional experience with Python considered a plus

• Non-internship experience designing systems with a focus on security, reliability and scalability

• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

• Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins

• Experience in cloud development, preferably on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

• Experience with pro-code data engineering tasks, preferably on Databricks and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)

• Familiarity with standard frameworks for large-scale data processing

• Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts

• Ability and willingness to adopt, evolve, and drive best engineering practices across the team
