The Difference You Will Make:
As a Staff Software Engineer in Marketing Technology, you will be responsible for designing and architecting the scalable platform for Airbnb to reach customers effectively. This role is highly cross-functional. You will act as a close partner to marketing, design, engineering, product management, data science, and policy, to make high impacts around the world.
A Typical Day:
- Develop custom MarTech tech suite, including Segmentation Platform and solutions to integrate with external Ads Platforms (e.g., Google, Facebook, Trivago, ImpactRadius, etc) via API
- Design and implement privacy-centric marketing event tracking solutions to support business operations
- Guide and inspire engineers, both within your team and across the broader organization
- Working with various teams within Airbnb to understand their MarTech needs, ensuring the delivery of tailored solutions.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional partners including Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality products that meet the dynamic needs of the business
- Automate production pipelines and integrate with upstream/downstream data sources E2E
- Built backend services for various internal tools (e.g., Analytics Hub, Dimension Manager, Ads Connect, Audience Builder etc)
Your Expertise:
- BS degree in CS or other related fields (MS or Ph.D. preferred)
- 9+ years of industry experience in a fast paced tech environment
- Working experience in distributed systems (Java)
- Working experience in Big Data (Hive/Presto/Spark), Python, and SQL
- Design experience in scalable API and reliable production systems
