As a Sr Site Reliability Engineer, you will ensure optimal performance and up-time of our network security infrastructure. Analyzing system performance end-to-end, with a focus on the back-end and infrastructure elements. You will automate deployment and configuration workflows, Identify, and ensure complete monitoring and alerting for the platform. You will also help maintain and co-own our Kubernetes platform.

As a Site Reliability Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Identifying gaps and providing best solutions for implementing/improving monitoring, alerting with speed error detection and automated remediation
• Monitoring/responding to platform alerts and providing problem resolution by troubleshooting critical system issues with quick turnaround
• Working with Dev and architects in designing, coding, testing, and delivering software to automate manual operational work
• Taking ownership of support issues, and work cross functionally as & if needed to resolve the issues
• Administering and maintaining our global Kubernetes distributed cluster; working on transforming our CI/CD pipeline to ensure automation
• Working with Major incident managers on incidents and RCA processes to identify opportunities to improve system performance
• Overseeing the deployment of software releases, and helping to troubleshoot, if issues encountered by DevOps team

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8 years of experience and a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or similar
• Demonstrate experience in Unix system administrationBe open to learning Akamai's internal, home grown tools
• Have experience of Site reliability engineering, and good knowledge of scripting languages: Python/GO and bash or similar
• Have exposure to modern CI/CD pipelines and running large deployments using virtualization or container technology and microservices
• Experience writing basic SQLsHave experience with Prometheus,Grafana and/or similar monitoring/alerting tools.
• Demonstrate knowledge in network technologies and internet protocols
