In this role, you will:
- Support the daily activities of the counterparty exposure monitoring program
- Ensure there are effective processes and rigor with respect to daily, monthly, and quarterly exposure variances and exception validations
- Perform and review daily exposure variance for identification of main drivers and communication of impacts
- Review monthly exposure variance by various dimensions and present the overview of key drivers of exposure variances
- Learn the risk reporting and control processes and monitor key metrics and trends, with emphasis on escalation of issues or concerns for counterparty risk
- Participate in the development of BAU stress testing initiatives and new routines
- Provide on-demand analysis based on market driven events and ad-hoc scenarios
- Respond to daily and/or trigger-based market updates on counterparty risk portfolio
- Review data, risk reporting, and commentary for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
- Review and test impacts for all metrics on new products, PFE model and process changes
- Work closely with technology and reporting functions to build out requirements as needed
- Work closely with risk managers, data teams, technology, and reporting teams to analyze, review, measure, test, and challenge results
- Maintain updated control framework and documentation per enterprise requirements
- Understand the variables and market factors that impact the firm’s counterparty risk
- Understand relevant business, regulatory and risk requirements pertaining to ECRM as well as maintain an awareness of current regulatory trends and resulting impacts
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives and regulatory requirements
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for risk analysis and/or presentations from senior managers, regulators, auditors, and other stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, Capital Markets, market risk, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in quantitative field, FRM, or other risk management designation
- Financial Engineering skills or background
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, graphs, and formulas
- Advanced SQL skills – experience with writing new SQL queries as well as understanding and editing existing SQL queries
- Experience with large data sets and use of data analysis to identify trends
- Strong understanding of counterparty risk (including but not limited to the concept and calculation of CCR risk metrics), OTC derivatives, and SFT products
- Ability to identify and drive initiatives independently, collaborate across teams, solution with a sense of urgency, and execute with high quality
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills required to identify root causes, define patterns and collaborate with stakeholders
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to articulate and document complex concepts in a clear, concise manner
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
- Intellectual curiosity with proven ability to learn quickly through others as well as to conduct their own research and analysis
