Description
In this early-career role, you will apply your mechanical engineering fundamentals to bring a future generation of iPad products to market. Initially working under the guidance and mentorship of senior engineers, you’ll rapidly learn to function as an independent and capable member of the team. This includes the following:- Developing technical knowledge in new areas to understand design constraints and craft creative solutions- Communicating design intent and inspection requirements with 3D and 2D CAD- Some of the skills we exercise and develop regularly: tolerance stacks, stress analysis, electro-mechanical integration, design for high volume manufacturability and assembly, prototyping, failure analysis, simple fixture design, metrology, statistical process control
Preferred Qualifications
  • High degree of motivation, curiosity, passion and creativity. You are not expected to be a technical expert, but you should be excited to learn as much as possible and apply your knowledge in new and creative ways!
  • Design intelligence: mechanical intuition, creative problem solving, spatial reasoning, attention to detail
  • Engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, material science, statistics
  • Excellent communication skills: written, visual, and verbal. Ability to clearly convey design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
  • 3D CAD experience with any program. 2D drafting and GD&T a plus
  • Industry experience in the form of internships or design projects a plus
  • Interested in traveling up to 10-20% throughout the year
Education & Experience
B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
