Production Planning Specialist (Aberdeen, SD)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Production Planning Specialist (Aberdeen, SD), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Identifying and implementing improvements to supply chain speed, efficiency, and inventory investment in the production planning space.
  • Collaborating with the Production Planning team to develop interactive and ad hoc reports supporting business processes.
  • Coaching and teaching Supply Planners through standard work, system function, and improvements.
  • Working closely with the business unit and plant leadership to provide performance results and projections.
  • Leading and participating in value stream improvement projects.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and a minimum of 1 year of supply chain experience in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

  • Associate’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and a minimum of three (3) years of Supply Chain experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience as a Supply or Production Planner
  • Proficiency in PowerBI report creation
  • SAP or similar ERP experience
  • Project management expertise
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Collaborative and interpersonal skills including teaching, coaching, and leading cross-functional teams through projects
  • End to end understanding of Supply Chain in a manufacturing context
  • Master's degree in Business or Supply Chain from an accredited institution
  • APICS certification
  • Supply Chain acumen and academic knowledge (e.g. parameter management knowledge, inventory management strategies)
