About the role:

This position’s primary responsibilities include leading a group of R&D Electrical Engineers in the development of medical devices. The manager will have an in depth understanding of the electrical requirements and will lead the team in developing market leading products. This position will also function as a subject matter expert and steer the team towards successful electronic medical equipment product designs. In addition, the manager must ensure that designs are compliant with internal SOPs and medical device industry standards. This position will be responsible for mentoring and accelerating the growth of their team members and provide regular coaching and feedback to aid in their career development. Experience in the structured environment of a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, or similar is preferred.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading/Managing a team of Electrical Engineers
  • Responsible for the electrical architecture for new product development projects
  • Working as a member of a cross-functional product development team, develop and/or guiding the development of algorithms that interact with hardware to achieve desired results and implement them in firmware
  • Oversee/review hardware test plans, test procedures and execute hardware verification and validation tests
  • Support the deployment of embedded systems in the market when the medical device is commercialized
  • Participate in defining and implementing configuration management of the electronic subsystems
  • Work with cross-functional teams to provide hardware support for manufacturing and field service needs
  • Familiarity with development and documentation in accordance with internal SOPs (e.g. Design Controls) and standards such as UL and IEC 60601

Required qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering
  • 3+ years of experience as a technical manager
  • Hands-on, embedded product integration, verification and validation planning, test strategy development, design of test protocols and executing hardware/system testing.
  • Proven Leadership and Management of a technical group providing coaching and development
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively document work performed
  • Demonstrated ability to write functional specifications
  • Expert knowledge of standard development tools
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System Standards
  • Expert knowledge of real time systems and operating systems
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and debug live systems and to determine if problems are caused by software or hardware

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years working in the medical device field
  • Familiarity with embedded system design technology
  • Hardware experience in control systems
  • Good knowledge of scientific, mathematical and statistical principles
  • Experience with scripting languages and automated testing
  • Good knowledge of security and encryption

Maximum Salary: $188300

Compensation fornon-exempt (hourly), non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
