Key job responsibilities
Daily activities are highly varied. Some days will be focused forward creating concept sketches and time and cost estimates for design deliverables. Some days will be focused on current design tasks, reviewing partner designs, running thermal and stress analysis, creating and reviewing tolerance loops, and structuring bills of materials. Some days will be system focused, reviewing interactions between optical and electrical components with enclosure and heatsink structures. Other days will be spent looking to the past, reviewing prototype builds, beta tests, product builds and launches, pilot launches, and field failures. Most days will be a mix of all of the above.About the team

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- CAD modelling experience
- 6+ years’ experience in the consumer or industrial electronics industry as a mechanical design engineer
- Hands-on experience with system development and product integration experience working across full product development life cycle from concept to mass production
- Demonstrated knowledge of tolerance analysis and statistical process control
- Demonstrated design experience integrating component modules (I/O, Displays, Batteries, PCBs, sensors, etc.)
- Experience with part and assembly design using manufacturing processes such as injection molded plastic components, as well as sheet, cast, extruded and machined metal components
- Design For Manufacturability Experience
- Product validation experience (Shock/Drop, Cycle Testing, and Environmental Testing)
- Rapid prototyping experience
- Experience performing thermal and structural analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willing and able to travel internationally.
