Subject matter expert and final point of escalation for technical issues in the field related to Autopilot and associated hardware, such as cameras, radar, sensors, and ECUs
Provide diagnostic support to North American service centers for complex issues and work with relevant hardware and software teams to identify root cause
Create clear problem statements for field issues and communicate top issues regularly to firmware and hardware development teams, collaborating on root cause analysis and development of countermeasures
Conduct large-scale data analyses to identify and triage issues
dentify and propose product improvements to hardware and software development teams that will increase reliability, reduce service cost, and improve customer satisfaction
Define requirements for on-board diagnostic methodologies and diagnostic alerts, including consideration for third-party shops, and work with the firmware development team to implement
Develop and document troubleshooting and remote diagnosis techniques with service technicians, technical support specialists and regional technical specialists
Review user experience issues and deficiencies and escalate those to development teams that can be addressed by firmware or hardware improvements and/or revised functional specifications.
Lead necessary service campaigns by defining and validating repair procedures, authoring service bulletins, and ensuring service has the necessary software, tools, and parts
Create documentation on system design and theory of operation for new Driver Assistance features to be referenced by global service teams during troubleshooting
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Automotive Technology or similar, or equivalent experience considered
Experience working with complex, electromechanical systems with embedded software
Experience with autonomous vehicles preferred
Experience with computer architecture (processor memory, kernel, operating system) and cameras a plus
Experience with common communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, Ethernet preferred
Experience in real time technical support or real-time diagnostics of a physical product preferred
Basic experience in Python; ability to read or interpret C/C++ a plus
Experience with data acquisition, analysis, and processing tools, such as SQL
Able to read and interpret electrical schematics
Prior experience in Formula SAE or experience working on personal cars is a plus
