Ring is seeking a Senior Industrial Designer to help shape the future of home security and neighborhood safety. In this role, you’ll serve as a strategic design leader—driving innovative, user-centered product experiences from early concept through mass production. You’ll anticipate challenges before they arise, define both short- and long-term product vision, and foster cross-functional alignment through bold thinking and hands-on execution. As a key contributor, you’ll proactively identify opportunities for innovation, solve engineering and manufacturing challenges, and ensure design strategy remains aligned with Ring’s mission to make neighborhoods safer. From sketch to production, you’ll unify form, function, and purpose.Key job responsibilities
- Strategic Vision & Brand Stewardship: Help define and evolve Ring’s long-term hardware design strategy. Champion a cohesive industrial design language that aligns with brand values, user needs, and global market trends.- Prototyping & Validation: Lead fast-paced prototyping loops, using data and user insights to validate and refine design directions. Deliver compelling visualizations that support executive decision-making.- Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive close coordination with global partners across design, engineering, marketing, and program management. Adapt flexibly to shifting priorities, navigating ambiguity with confidence and agility.

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Industrial Design or related field.
- 10+ years of experience designing consumer hardware or equivalent.
- Exceptional 2D sketching, storyboarding, and visualization skills.
- Deep expertise in 3D CAD (including class-A surfacing) and design for manufacture.
- Demonstrated strength in solving mechanical design and development challenges.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with executives, peers, and partners.
- Strong portfolio showcasing design leadership and end-to-end execution of complex products.
- Excellent time management and comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

- Experience owning product families or leading design direction across multiple generations of hardware.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping tools and techniques—from foam to functional.
- History of driving alignment and clarity across design, engineering, and product stakeholders.
- Background in connected home devices, cameras, or consumer electronics strongly preferred.
